We are a group of Christians who meet for the purpose of worship and study.
We believe in the perfection and inerrancy of the word of God -- the Bible, and consider
it as the only guide whereby one may know those things that "pertain to life and
godliness" (2 Peter. 1.3). Through this book God has revealed to man his spiritual
condition (Romans 3.23), the plan of salvation that God implemented to reconcile
man (John 3.16), the means by which man may access this salvation (Acts 2.38), the
method of worship that God not only desires but requires (John 4.23,24), and the
lifestyle of faith required to maintain a right relationship with God (Luke 9.23).
Believing very strongly that God has revealed His will within the pages of this
inspired book we consider the word of God as the final authority. The things that
are done religiously must be supported by clear scripture. Therefore our membership
consists of those who have responded to the gospel by faith and obedience as the
Bible teaches (Acts 2.38; Romans 6.17).
Our organizational structure consists of a plurality of elders and deacons (Philippians
1.1) who meet the qualifications outlined in the Bible (1 Timothy 3.1-15). Our congregation
is locally autonomous as our elders do not oversee multiple congregations or diocese,
thus heeding the words of the apostle Peter who instructed elders to "shepherd the
church of God which is among you" (1 Peter 5.2).
Our worship services are conducted by prayer and partaking of the Lord's Supper
(Acts 2.42; 1 Corinthians 11.23-34), financial contributions of the members (1 Corinthians
16.1,2), the singing of "psalms hymns and spiritual songs" (Ephesians 5.19) without
the use of instrumental accompaniment, and preaching a message from the Bible (Acts
20.7). These things we do every first day of the week as is commanded by God through
the Bible.
Our relationship with one another is one resembling a close-knit family. In
fact the apostle Paul described the church as "the whole body being joined and knit
together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which
every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in
love" (Ephesians 4.16). As a family we offer support to one another "considering
one another in order to stir up love and good works" (Hebrews 10.24). We endeavor
to provide a loving atmosphere in which our members can grow and develop "in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3.18). Our love for one another is one
of the defining characteristics which identify us as belonging to Christ (John 13.35;
1 John 4.10,1).
